Well not quite. Still have until September. But it’s over for teachers and students. I will say that’s this has been a nice long break. I didn’t do anything I didn’t want to do. I guess after spending the last school year doing just about everything that I didn’t want to do, I deserved that. Read more...
Got issues?
Don’t we all? The pollutions of life can really get you down sometimes and have you wallowing in self-pity and misery. But you don’t have to stay there. If the problem has a solution, then it’s not really a problem. If it doesn’t, just throw it in the bag with the rest of the horse poo and keep on moving.
Today, I was busy trying to learn how to put a Joomla site together (whew, steep learning curve for me), and as usual, when I’m not ‘getting’ a thing right away, my mind tends to wander. So it wandered to insects and PETA, Barack Obama and my life. Hang in there, I’m about to explain. Read more...
My buddy is gone. I had to have her put down. She had wasted away to fur and bones. I will miss her. I do miss her. I miss the sound of her tags on her collar. Sometimes I imagine I still hear them. I miss her coming to me while I’m on the computer Read more...
One of those weeks. Looks like I pulled some caca outta my bag this time. One thing that makes me sad. Another thing that pizzes me off. First the sad thing. My 14 year old dog is sick. I thought I was. I bought a cheapy tv to put in my office. Much to my surprise, I had to buy an antennae to go with it. The tv is 10″ – just the right size for the little space on my desk. The color is nice. The sound is ok. It’s all ok, Read more...
I don’t ascribe to the notion that whatever happens is ‘fate.’ I do believe, however, that each path chosen has just a few outcomes. Hmmm…that statement reminds me of something a friend told me years ago. Let me paraphase: life has just so many scripts. It’s the players that change. Now I like to think Read more...
I’ve been teaching in the public school system these past two years. As friends can attest from my frequent boo hoo-ing, teaching middle-school has been the absolute hardest job I’ve EVER had. Compared to other jobs I’ve had…teaching kids ranks at the top for sheer misery. 1. The tyrant — I once worked for a Read more...
